Distributing Agricultural inputs to 170 Farmers in Deir Albalah and Khan Younis
In an effort to support the resilience of Gaza Strip residents, particularly farmers suffering from the ravages of the ongoing war and relentless aggression, the Economic and Social Development Center of Palestine has launched an emergency response to enhance farmers’ production capacities. By distributing agricultural inputs, ESDC aims to maintain the agricultural activities of farmers who continue to cultivate and have access to water sources.
This initiative is a part of a project of “Resilient Communities: Supporting vulnerable and affected Palestinian Communities to transition to more resilient, sustainable, and equitable economic growth in the Gaza Strip and the Jordan Valley”. This project is implemented by the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development (ESDC) in partnership with Oxfam and funded by BMZ.
The activity targeted 170 farmers in the areas of Deir al-Balah and ALzawayda in the middle governorate and Al-Mawasi in Khan Yunis governorate through the distribution of agricultural inputs. The ESDC is keen to ensure the continuation of agricultural activities in the Gaza Strip to support the resilience of farmers and supply vegetables to the local market, amidst the significant difficulties faced in bringing food into the Gaza Strip.
