The Economic & Social Development Centre of Palestine (ESDC) Opening Agricultural Project in Tubas Governorate

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Riyad Attari, and His Excellency the Governor of Tubas Governorate and the Northern Jordan Valley, Mr. Ahmed Al-Asaad, the Economic and Social Development Centre of Palestine ESDC opened a vital agricultural project in Tubas Governorate that included the installation of an agricultural water tank with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters and a metal line conveying agricultural water, 3 km long and in diameter. 6 inch. This vital project irrigates an area of ​​about 500 dunums owned by approximately 200 farmers.

Within the project agreement, the municipality of Tubas will manage this project and provide farmers with agricultural irrigation water at preferential prices, which reduces production costs for farmers and enhances their steadfastness on their lands. Also it contributes to the development of the agricultural sector in the governorate. The mayor of Tubas, Mr. Hossam Daraghmeh, and a number of official and institutional participants and farmers in Tubas participated in this event. Mr. Jamal Mubaslat, Deputy Director General, represented the Economic and Social Development Centre of Palestine.

This intervention implemented with the project “Supporting vulnerable and effected Palestinian communities to transition to more resilient, sustainable and equitable economic growth” which is implementing in partnership with OXFAM, in coordination with ministry of agriculture and funded by the federal ministry for economic cooperation and development (BMZ)
